It started with two cats sitting by a window.
After starting my personalised print business, a hand-drawn personalised print I designed inspired by my own cats, showing a pair of cats watching birds outside, quickly became a bestseller on Etsy. It struck a chord with pet lovers, especially cat owners who saw their own pets in the piece. Customers could choose from a growing collection of illustrated cats I had created, or submit photos so I could custom-match their pet’s unique markings and personality.
That single design opened the door to a new world of work that would become a huge part of my brand over the next four years.
As demand grew, I evolved the concept into a full collection:
Illustration Library: I drew hundreds of cat illustrations in two signature sitting poses, capturing nearly every fur pattern and quirk imaginable (trust me, there are more than your think!).
Scene Design: I developed themed backgrounds to turn each piece into a story, from modern interiors to sunflower fields.
Personalisation Made Easy: I created a system that allowed customers to choose from pre-drawn cats or request a custom illustration for an additional cost, making it feel effortless and affordable but still special.
In 2023, I had the honour of collaborating with @1bike1world, Dean and his famous rescue cat, Nala. I illustrated three of their rescue animals, which were featured in their sell-out 2024 charity calendar. The project raised significant funds for animal welfare and became one of my proudest creative moments.
This collaboration introduced my work to a new audience and inspired a fresh illustration style that went on to become a popular offering in my shop.
What began as a single cat print turned into something so much bigger - I became a pet portrait artist, drawing cats, dogs, horses, rabbits, and even the occasional lizard.
Over the past 4 years I've learned that personalised illustration is powerful. When done with care, it becomes more than a product. It builds trust, connection, and loyalty, and with the right systems, it can grow without losing that special touch.

Some portraits are joyful gifts. Others are deeply personal memorials. I approach each one with the same care, knowing that these aren’t just pictures; they’re tributes, memories, and emotional keepsakes.
I’ve had the privilege of:
