Rachel came to me without a visual identity for her business - just her name, her passion, and a loyal client base who loved her personal, one-on-one approach to hair styling.
With 15 years of experience, award-winning training from Sassoon Academy, Toni & Guy, and Wella Education, and a cosy at-home salon (complete with Netflix and vino), Rach had built something special. The brand needed to reflect that energy: professional yet relaxed, confident but welcoming.
We started by exploring her niche in colour correction and styling, originally using the name “Colour by Rach.” But after a collaborative mood-boarding process, we decided on “Hair by Rach”, which was a name that better communicated her full-service offering and gave room to grow.
The Concept Phase
The initial logo explorations played with bold, graphic type and visual nods to the hair industry, using tools and letterforms as a way to infuse the brand with subtle symbolism.
We landed on a strong, energetic wordmark that feels both fun and trustworthy. The custom ‘R’ in Rach has a gentle curve that mimics a strand of hair.

Visual Execution
The final identity is playful yet professional, featuring a modern red-and-pink palette that feels fresh, confident, and distinctly feminine (without being cliché).
I designed a full suite of assets to support the launch:
 - Business cards that stand out
 - A custom-designed price list flyer for in-salon use
 - Branded social media tiles and graphics
 - A fully designed and built WordPress one-page website to showcase her work, services, and personality online
The brand tone throughout was inspired by Rachel’s voice: fun, friendly, a little cheeky, and completely approachable. From “New Hair, Who Dis?” to “That Fresh Hair Feel,” every phrase was written to reflect her client experience.

Rachel’s new website brings her brand to life in a clean, scrollable layout with vibrant colours, service sections, client reviews, and social integration. The goal was simplicity and clarity as the site had to convert new leads and feel like an extension of the relaxed, uplifting environment she creates in person.
This project was all about balance, pairing bold visuals with everyday relatability. To me, a great brand isn’t just about looking good, it’s about reflecting a personality, building trust, and making people feel something from the very first interaction.
Whether you’re launching something new or ready to level-up your visual identity, I’d love to help you create something you’re proud to show off.
